NEW YORK – A pall loomed over the tight quarters of the New York Rangers dressing room Tuesday afternoon, mere hours after their hopes of capturing Lord Stanleys mug dimmed to the very faintest light. Joe Montana Jersey . A third straight loss has them staring dead in the eye of elimination and try as they might, belief of some valiant comeback was difficult to summon on this day. The faces were long, sour and glum ahead of Game 4 at MSG on Wednesday night, to be expected in light of a gaping 3-0 series hole. "Im not going to lie to you, its a tough day today," said a particularly downcast Brad Richards, the 34-year-olds dreams of a second Cup fading dramatically after a 3-0 loss in Game 3. "I mean, the goal is to get through today and [Wednesday] will be a Stanley Cup playoff game-day and Im sure everybody will be in a lot better mood, a lot better outlook to try to get in and win a game." "Belief is everything," Martin St. Louis said, his beard speckled with grey in the final days of the postseason. "Right now, its a big mountain to climb but once you get into battle … first shift you get into battle, get into the game, win a game and now its 3-1 and you go from there. You cant look at trying to win four. Youre trying to win one." Despite the appearance of a one-sided series, the Rangers know full well that this Cup Final has been anything but; two overtime games that couldve gone either way followed by Jonathan Quicks brilliance in a Game 3 during which they controlled puck possession. But as Rangers coach Alain Vigneault put it – his mood predictably sour – none of that matters now. One game is all that counts. One more loss and hope of adding the first Cup in New York in 20 years dies a quiet death. "Whatever talk you might use, at the end of the day for us right now, its about one game," Vigneault said. "Thats as simple and logical and realistic as I can put it for you. We have to focus on one game and thats what were going to do." Though it matters little at this point, as stressed by Vigneault, the even nature of the series does offer the slightest bit of belief for the Rangers. Heavy underdogs coming into the series, theyve stood toe-to-toe with the Kings, felled by their opponents will under duress, unmatched depth and an unfortunate bounce or two. "Its not like weve been outplayed here – thats not been the case," said Henrik Lundqvist, appearing most at ease amongst a tense New York group. "Theyve been good, but I think weve been playing pretty good, as well. It comes down to a couple plays here and there. Thats been the difference in these games. But it starts with your belief and it starts with how you approach this game and the games after that. But they know its possible and we know its possible." Only four teams have ever rallied from a 3-0 series deficit, including L.A. in the opening round against San Jose. New York dug out from a 3-1 deficit itself in the second round against the Penguins, winning Game 7 on the road in Pittsburgh. This task, however, opposite maybe the most complete and mentally-tested team in the league, is almost beyond comprehension. Felled by Quicks 32 saves in Game 3, adjustments for the next one are simple for the head coach. "Score," said Vigneault, hopeful that the 28-year-old Kings goaltender wasnt locked in again on Wednesday night. A power play goal for a group thats managed one in 14 opportunities might be of help as well. "You keep repeating the process," added Richards, the Rangers centre held without a point through three games, "firing more on net, and youd expect eventually something is going to go in. For sure, you can always will words and battle and all that, you can talk about it, be better. The third period of Game 1, the ice was tilted, but overall the ice hasnt felt that tilted in this series. Theyre a calm, cool, collected team that doesnt get rattled and it just seems that theyre scoring at the right times and getting big saves at the right times." At their darkest point, the sky notably cloudy in midtown Manhattan, the Rangers were simply trying to summon some kind of light. "Its the waiting and thinking thats the tough part," Richards said. "Weve gotta get back in the battle and see where it goes." Terrell Owens Jersey . -- Two nights after losing to the Eastern Conferences worst team, the Phoenix Coyotes handled the best. Jerry Rice Jersey . -- Desperate to stop Tom Bradys latest comeback bid, the Miami Dolphins sought help from a reserve safety making his NFL debut after being signed Tuesday off the San Francisco 49ers practice squad. http://www.authenticsf49erspro.com/Steve-young-49ers-jersey/ . Instead, Nonis and Kessel were sorting through the fallout of a wild melee with the Buffalo Sabres, one that saw Kessel suspended for the duration of the pre-season.Andrew Wiggins has become a household name, largely due to the unparalleled media attention he has received. Particularly leading into the Vaughan, Ontario natives freshman year at the University of Kansas, with the ESPN Magazine and Sports Illustrated covers, a GQ feature, and SportsCentre highlights that have created an immeasurable amount of excitement - so much so, that it makes it impossible to live up to the hype. Traditionally, the early part of most NCAA programs schedules are loaded with cupcake opponents, and teams or players arent truly tested until conference play in the new year. However on Tuesday night, the State Farm Championship Classic not only pit the #4 Duke Blue Devils against the #5 Kansas Jayhawks in not only a top level match up, but featured the #1 (Wiggins) and #2 (Jabari Parker) high school recruits in the country squaring off against one another. Wiggins would face a true test to see if he was every bit as good as the hype. There would no longer be any questions, judging the ease and ability of his game against his inferior opponents. Despite what the players said, the match-up of Wiggins vs. Parker didnt disappoint for in the closely contested basketball game that showcased much more talent then the two heralded freshmen, it was still Wiggins leading his Jayhawks down the stretch to a 94-83 victory. Notwithstanding foul trouble, which kept him on the bench for much of the first half, Wiggins finished the game with 22 points and eight rebounds. His step back jumper with 1:33 left and fast break dunk seconds later started a 10-2 Jayhawks run to close out the game. He shot 9-15 from the field with many of those high percentage baskets on the break. Wiggins had eight transition points, one more than the entire Blue Devils team. While Parker had a monstrous first half with 19 points, he fouled out, trying to stop Wiggins, ironically, with 27 points and nine rebounds. Earlier in the evening, #1 ranked Kentucky fell to #2 Michigan State and UKs super freshman Julius Randle added 27 points and 13 rebounds in the loss. "Big players make big plays," Wiggins said. "I think our whole team, whoever was on the court, every possession we made a big play. Thats why we came out on top." Despite the competition, Wiggins was the biggest player of the night and much like his personality, performed with a modest display of his abilities. Hee still teases with his untapped potential, but rose to the occasion to prove that in fact, the hype is real. Roger Craig Jersey. . FIVE CANADIANS TO WATCH, THIS NCAA SEASON Unquestionably, all eyes are on Wiggins but here are five other Canadians that will garner attention this season. Nik Stauskas, Small Forward, University of Michigan (Sophomore) Last season, the Mississauga, Ontario swingman was playing in the NCAA Championship game as a freshman. The deadly 3-point shooter returns, without teammates Naismith Player of the Year Trey Burke and shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr., who have both gone to the NBA and will be relied upon more heavily by the Wolverines. Stauskas added 16 pounds of muscle during the offseason and committed to improving his defense. Kevin Pangos, Point Guard, Gonzaga University (Junior) Pangos is the head of the snake for the Bulldogs, and will have more work cut out for him without NBA lottery pick Kelly Olynyk. The Holland Landing, Ontario native averaged 11.9 points a game and shot .417% from the 3-point line last season. Pangos looked to improve on both sides of the ball, leading Canadas Development Team this summer. Tyler Ennis, Point Guard, Syracuse University (Freshman) As a freshman, Ennis steps into the starting line-up as Michael Carter-Williams left for the NBA, and will take the reigns of the Orangemen offense. As the only true point guard on the roster the Brampton, Ontario playmaker is known as a facilitator, but he can put the ball in the net. Ennis led the Under 19 World FIBA Championships tournament in scoring this past summer, averaging 20.9 points per game. Dwight Powell, Power Forward, Stanford University (Senior) Last season, the Toronto, Ontario native was named Pac-12 Most Improved Player of the Year along with All Pac-12 First Team honours averaging a team-high 14.9 points a game and 8.4 rebounds. Powell spent the summer playing on the Canadian Mens Development Team touring China and competing in the World University Games shooting 61.9% from the field and averaging 12.1 points and 5.1 rebounds. Daniel Mullings, Shooting Guard, New Mexico State (Junior) Mullings is a versatile player and a solid perimeter defender that chipped in 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game last season. He will have an expanded role this year and was voted pre-season Western Athletic Conference player of the year.
