SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee high school basketball player convicted of aggravated rape of a freshman teammate will be released from custody next month, a person familiar with the case said Tuesday. The person said the player, who was convicted as a juvenile and has been in custody since December of last year, will be released Nov. 21. Two other Ooltewah High School players convicted on juvenile aggravated assault charges were sentenced to 60 days in custody in addition to the 50 days they have already served. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because Tuesdays sentencing was closed to the public and no ruling was announced immediately afterward. The players names havent been released because they were in juvenile court. The Chattanooga Times Free Press first reported the information.Police said three members of last years Ooltewah team assaulted a freshman teammate Dec. 22 with a pool cue. The incident occurred when the team from the Chattanooga area was playing in a tournament about 150 miles away in the resort town of Gatlinburg.Gatlinburg police charged three players with the rape of one teammate, though the Hamilton County district attorneys office has indicated four freshman players were assaulted during that trip. Ooltewah High School is in Hamilton County; Gatlinburg is in Sevier County.Prosecutors in March unsuccessfully attempted to have one of the three defendants tried as an adult. On Aug. 30, one player was convicted in juvenile court of aggravated rape and aggravated assault; the two others were found guilty only of aggravated assault. One of the victims filed suit on Sept. 9 against his former coach, the former vice principal and athletic director, the former principal and the Hamilton County Board of Education, accusing them of knowingly ignoring the abuse of athletes. An investigation launched by the Hamilton County district attorneys office and sheriffs office after the Dec. 22 incident revealed widespread, systemic problems going unaddressed at every level in the countys public schools. Their report, which was released in September, says permissive coaches and an apathetic administration allowed a culture of bullying to spread in the county. The report found that neither Ooltewah High officials nor central office administrators at Hamilton County acknowledged the seriousness of the Dec. 22 case. The report also said there is no indication that Rick Smith, the Hamilton County schools superintendent at the time, took his duty to manage the situation seriously. Smith has since stepped down.A separate investigation commissioned by Hamilton County officials showed Ooltewahs basketball team had a culture of hazing and bullying even before the Dec. 22 incident. But the investigation also said there was no evidence that Hamilton County school officials or Ooltewah High administrators knew or should have known such an incident would occur.Andre Montgomery, who coached Ooltewahs team at the time, was indicted by Hamilton County officials in May on four counts of failing to report child sexual abuse.Allard Nayadley, an assistant principal at the time, also faced charges in Hamilton County of failing to report child sexual abuse but entered a pre-trial diversion program in May. If he complies with terms of that program, which include performing community service and taking a class on mandatory reporting, the charges can be removed from his record.Similar charges against former Ooltewah assistant coach Karl Williams were dropped in May.Also, Rodney Burns, the Gatlinburg detective who handled the rape investigation, faces aggravated perjury charges in Hamilton County regarding his testimony during a preliminary hearing for Montgomery, Nayadley and Williams. Andrew Wiggins made 10-of-12 from the foul line and scored 17 for Kansas (14-4, 5-0 Big 12), which capped a stretch of four straight games against ranked opponents unscathed. Fred Warner Jersey . Vettel, who has already clinched his fourth straight F1 title, enters the finale with a chance to equal Michael Schumachers 13 victories in a year and match the record of nine consecutive wins by Alberto Ascari in the 1952 and 1953 seasons. http://www.custom49ersjersey.com/custom-jeff-wilson-jersey-large-2238d.html . Darren Helm scored on Detroits sixth attempt in the shootout and then Jonas Gustavsson stopped Andrew Shaws shot, lifting the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-4 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night. Ronnie Lott Jersey . The Canadian squad, skipped by Jennifer Jones of Winnipeg, got on the board first with two in the second end, and followed that with two more apiece in the fourth and sixth ends. Justin Skule Jersey . Woodson said during a radio interview Thursday that the Knicks Carmelo Anthony doesnt get the same calls as other superstars. The eight teams directly invited to the Valve Dota 2 Boston Major have been announced. Wings Gaming, Digital Chaos, Evil Geniuses, Newbee, EHOME, Execration, OG and MVP Phoenix will get direct tickets to Boston to kick off group play on Dec. 3.Wings and DC earn their spots by?taking first and second at The International 6 in Seattle, respectively, as well as the relative stability of each roster headed into the major. Both teams have been lacking in recent LAN results, but a top-two placement in Seattle all but guaranteed their berth in Boston.Only one major LAN has been held since TI6, so the top three of the MarsTV Dota 2 League all make an appearance here as well. Evil Geniuses come into the Boston Major with both a LAN victory at MDL and a third place finish at TI6. Newbee and OG both fell short of the mark at TI, but have rebounded and shown prowess enough to earn a spot at the major.Execration has had phenomenal results at recent LANs within the Southeast Asia region, and its selection shows Valve has taken notice of both online results and roster stability when considering a teams credentials. Wins over major SEA teams like Fnatic and MVP Phoenix, as well as some impressive showings in Seattle, make Execration a dark horse for Boston.EHOME brings the total count for Chinese regioon direct invites to three; the team comes off both strong showings at TI6 and in regional play.dddddddddddd Similar to Execration, EHOME has put up numbers in a strong region, and likely earned an invite on that basis.MVP Phoenix is the odd duck, a team that secured a top four placing at TI6 but has struggled in an increasingly difficult SEA region since August. Losing several key members, MVP may have difficulty maintaining its streak of LAN success in Boston - though theres time between now and December to tighten the hinges.Notable exclusions include several European teams, as the region was limited to only one direct invite. Team Secret, Team Liquid, Alliance, Ad Finem, Vega Squadron and more will compete in what will be a stacked European qualifier. Both Vici rosters find themselves in regional qualifiers as well, fighting against some strong talent in Invictus Gaming and LGD.Forever Young for a ticket to Boston. In the Americas, the qualifier spots have been reduced to eight rather than ten, likely due to a lack of teams available to compete. FDL, NP and Complexity are likely to fight it out for a chance to prove their mettle on home ground in Boston. ' ' '
